Telepresence projects enable users to observe, intervene, and communicate with a remote location and ‘insert’ themselves into a distant environment.
Below is a list of similar projects:
Telegarden by Ken Goldberg and Joseph Santarromana

Telegarden is similar to Remote Input Narrative in that both require an online community to contribute towards the project. In Telegarden, people around the world could collectively cultivate a small ecosystem, and the survival of the ecology was dependent on a remote social network. Similarly in Remote Input Narrative, classmates contribute scripts for an ongoing film. As a result both classmates and director share their ideas and the result is a collaborative film. While the Telegarden studies the social behavior between people online and the real world, Remote Input Narrative studies the relationship between how ideas are shared and interpreted in the media arts.
